How Will You Live . . . Today

Every morning when you rise, you must make a decision about how you will live. Will you live the day as though it's the last day of your past, or will you choose to live it as if it's the first day of your future? You see, living each day as the last day of your past makes you a victim, you can't change the past, what is done is done. The past only harbors regrets, the things you could have done, should have done. While it's true that the past for some isn't so bleak and maybe the past didn't cause emotional scars, the fact remains that the past is the past and living in the past keeps you stuck, right where you are.

What about living each day as the first day of your future? Living in this manner means each day is about opportunity. The decisions you make today can and will impact your future. By deciding how you want your future to look, you can begin to live with intentionality and purpose. Living in this manner isn't a guarantee that your future will be become the way you want it to be because there is too much about life that is out of our control. But I can guarantee you'll have more success creating your future, living each day as the start of your future, than you would living each day as the last day of your past. There is no future if you live like that. So what will it be, victim or victor, what you should have done or what you will do, staying stuck or creating your new future one decision, one choice, one day at a time?
